JOB DESCRIPTION

As a passport officer and administrator in the reception, your main area of responsibility and task is to process applications for passports and national ID cards. The work with passport processing takes place in direct contact with visitors who have either booked an appointment to apply for a passport and/or national ID card or are visiting us to collect travel documents. The work is carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, which means that you will undergo training for two weeks and need to achieve a passing result in order to perform the tasks.

As a passport officer and administrator in the reception at our service offices, you will also work with receiving and handing out lost property, handling cash, answering incoming calls and emails, receiving deliveries, and other tasks related to reception work. As a passport officer during the summer, you will work at all service offices in our police area.

An employment with us means that you are a representative of the authority and can be the visitor's first contact with the police. You will meet people who have experienced difficult events, and you are expected to be able to meet, inform, and guide in a simple and understandable way. The working hours are mostly scheduled during the day from 08:00 to 16:30, but there are also evening shifts once a week.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Good computer skills and an ability to learn new IT systems easily.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
  • Good ability to express yourself in English.

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Ongoing studies at the Police Academy with completed and approved term 1 by the start of employment
  • Work experience in reception or customer service with personal customer contact such as in retail.
  • Experience in processing passports and national ID
  • Experience working within the Swedish Police Authority
  • Experience in reception work within public service

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is outgoing and has high social competence. The work involves daily contact with individuals from all over the world, which requires communicative ability and sensitivity. You are meticulous and responsible. At times, the pace is high, and it is required that you are stress-resistant, have the ability to be flexible, and maintain a high level of service and quality. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to a good working climate.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

OTHER

Job title: Administrator
Work location: Borås, Alingsås. Work in nearby municipalities may become relevant.
Working hours: Fixed working hours from 08:00 to 16:30, 10:00 to 18:30 once a week.
Start date: Current period: 1/6 - 31/8. You need to be able to work the entire period to be considered for the position.
Function: Reception Administrator
A prerequisite for being able to process applications for passports and national ID cards is a completed and approved training. Possible training start will be in early June.

The employment may be followed by a part-time position if there is interest and opportunity from both the employer and the employee.

Information about leave during the employment period:

If you are considered for employment, you do not have the right to vacation leave. Instead, you will receive vacation compensation paid after the employment has ended. Occasional shorter leave with salary deduction may be granted if the operations allow this and then in accordance with an agreement with the manager.
